SAFETY Message

When using prams this summer remember to use the brakes when the pram is stationary, use tether straps when moving on uneven surfaces,always use the safety harness and NEVER leave a baby alone to sleep in their pram. Prams are not a replacement for a cot.

Welcome to the Baby Safety Website

Baby Safety, an initiative of the Infant and Nursery Products Association of Australia (INPAA), was launched in early 2007 and is being progressively rolled out. It is an integrated program to promote and support the industry in the supply of safe products and to educate consumers on the safe use of nursery and infant products.

Why the need for a Baby Safety program?

  • Current market for infant and nursery products is robust and growing
  • Diversity and range of new and innovative products is continually expanding
  • Community expectation is that all nursery products are safe
  • Number of child injuries reported in last 5 years continues to increase
  • Second-hand products are not always safe
